Hi. My name is Giselle Limtao. I am a current student and am expecting to graduate this coming May from Otis College of Art and Design as a fashion design major.

For the most part I only design fashion but I do also love product design and hope someday to be involved in the field. My interests and specialties are in high end menswear and womenswear. I value design that is aesthetically functional.

I work through draping, sewing samples, and detailed technical flats. I can illustrate but I also feel that spending too much time on illustrations takes time away from creating quality design. So for the most part I just make croquis (quick sketches) along with technical flats (by hand or by computer, whichever is preferred).

I'm good with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, as well as other computer programs. Whatever I don't know, I'll learn to pick up.

Anyway, that's just a little bit about me and my personal ideas on design. Thanks for visiting and please feel free to contact me anytime!

PROJECT BCBG MAX AZRIA

Long time since I've posted but here's some of the illustrations I made for my BCBG Max Azria project.

I've added a couple pictures that my friend Tuna took for a photoshoot.

Band of Outsiders Mentorship with Scott Sternberg!

***a couple of shots from a photoshoot with Tuna.

I have to say that I loved this project. I grew to love menswear more than I thought I would.

The first few photos here are of one of the fittings with my chosen outfit. I haven't put up the sketch of the chosen outfit yet because it needs re-illustrating.

The following images are about half of my entire sketch package. Don't forget to click the images to get a larger view!

The red jacket here was to be made of one (or two) red trapper blanket(s). The black stripe at the bottom would highlight the trapper blanket's key feature. See below!

The jacket below has a removable lining, however when it is attached, you'll be able to see both layers when it is opened up.

The vest below is a mini-waled corduroy puff vest with an icelandic sweater pattern stitched into the puffiness of the vest. I have another sketch with a similar puff vest. I'll post it up later.

I wish I could give you a swatch of the amazing neon green yarn that I would've been used for the deep v-neck sweater below. It was beyond exciting =).

The suit below is a more traditional 3-piece look but I still love it anyway. (plus that houndstooth took forever to render).

Nordstrom Mentorship from Junior Year

This Mentorship with Marcus Brown from Nordstrom's was more of an Ethic/Global assignment. The designs below were influenced by traditional Mongol and Russian garb.

The images above are from the Otis Jury show, not the actual end of the year Scholarship show. The outfit did make it into the scholarship show though =).

I also apologize for the unneccessary layering in some of the sketches below. I didn't want to put them in but the line was supposed to be for winter...so they made me.

The collar part of the jacket below is a slubby reddish/purple yarn.

The patterns used here and in the first sketch are sampled from Mongol tribal patterns. They're being stitched into the padded flannel jacket pictured below.

I really, really wanted to re-upholster a pair of boots to make the corduroy fringe boots pictured in the illustrations...but since my major's focus is apparel... I didn't get to (plus I also didn't really have the time). Maybe one day I will though..

I love this jacket below. Too bad it wasn't chosen.

The vest below is also made of that slubby reddish/purple yarn. And I don't really like the turtleneck, but I did do a nice ombre dip dye treatment of the fabric. I should post that up too.

Tommy Bahama Mentorship from my junior year of college
